Raising Funds for Education and Community Enrichment

Turning generosity into opportunity.

At the University Women’s Club of Toronto, we are dedicated to empowering women and enriching our community through education. As proud members of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Ontario Council, we support initiatives that advance the status of women and girls through education and advocacy.

To fund our scholarships and community programs, we rely on a combination of managed investments, fundraising events, and monetary donations. We can’t do it without you.

Your support enables us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young women pursuing higher education.

Our fundraising supports both scholarships and community programs.

We rely on several sources of support to sustain the work of the University Women’s Club of Toronto and the UWC (Toronto) Foundation.

01

Managed Investments

Managed investments provide an important source of ongoing support for our philanthropic work.

02

Fundraising Events

Events bring our members and community together while raising funds for causes that matter.

03

Monetary Donations

Donations from members, individuals and corporate partners help us extend the reach of our work.

An evening of community, hope and welcome.

In April 2026, we hosted a heartfelt and inspiring evening in support of Romero House, a sanctuary settlement house for refugees.

Francesca Aldi Ross

Executive Director Francesca Aldi Ross spoke passionately about the ongoing mission and newest developments at Romero House.

Doug Saunders

Our keynote speaker was Doug Saunders, Globe and Mail International Affairs journalist.

35 Silent Auction Gifts

Guests had the opportunity to bid on 35 enticing silent auction gifts, with all proceeds supporting the work of Romero House.

A Meaningful Evening

The evening ended on a sweet note with a delicious dessert buffet.

The evening featured two stirring and heartfelt speeches that left a lasting impact on all who attended.

Doug Saunders presented insights into the worldwide status and movements of refugees and immigrants. His talk was both instructive and enlightening, and he outlined what more Canada could do to help with this crisis.

His theme of “We can do it” left a deep impression on the room.

This event was not only a fundraiser—it was a celebration of community, hope and the power of welcome.

Thank you to all who contributed and attended, making the evening such a success. Together, we continue to build a home where strangers become neighbours.

Fundraising brings our community together around causes that matter.

Through your generosity, UWC Toronto can continue supporting education, opportunity and community programs that make a meaningful difference.
